The Basics: How to Create Delicious Green Drinks

Ever since I released my From Lupus to Living: Defying the Odds video, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about green drinks. What do I put in my green drink? How often do I drink them?

So, I wanted to share what goes into my drink!  There are tons of variations out there, but this is how I personally create my delicious green drinks.

First things first: equipment.

You can use either a high powered blender or a juicer. Granted, neither are inexpensive.  But these green drinks will significantly help with your health, so I believe it is worth the investment.

You can also try the Nutribullet, found at your local Bed Bath and Beyond. With a 20% coupon, it’s quite a deal for less than $100!

Why & When I Make a Green Drink

When:  First thing in the morning

How much:16-24 oz

Why: The vitamin and mineral-rich juice complete the overnight detox phase. The drink is high in fiber and creates alkalinity in your body, which deters cancer cells.  Plus, it’s way better for you than your highly acidic coffee.

What: Greens: Kale, spinach, parsley, Swiss chard, cucumbers, celery, lemon, apple, ginger.

My Recipe

Nutribullet for Making Green Drinks

  • Handful of Kale and romaine or Swiss chard
  • 2-3 stalks of celery ( a natural diuretic)
  • 1 apple
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 cucumber

Throw these in your blender or juicer and voila! Out comes a delicious green drink. Pretty simple, huh?

I believe that consuming as many organic ingredients and products are very important.

It decreases consumption of pesticides that the body will then need to further breakdown and filter out. If the body is already on toxic overload with medications and daily living, it cannot keep up with the demands of breaking down inorganic ingredients.

I’d love to hear if you have started adding juicing to your daily regimen!

If so, has it changed the way you feel? What other variations have you created?

Stay warm,
